Super Furry Animals - Electric Picnic 2006
- 03/04/2006
Super Furry Animals bring their wonderful brand of indie pop music to the Electric Picnic from the 1st to the 3rd of September. Super Furry Animals return to these shores showcasing songs from their latest album, Love Kraft including the hit single, "Lazer Beam". A band that have never failed us before for infectious, melodic pop classics, the Super Furry Animals concert at Electric Picnic is guaranteed to be a real treat. Super Furry Animals came on the music scene in the late '90s with their debut record, Lianfairpwllgywgllgogerchwymdrobwlltysiliogoyogoyocynygofod, listed as Guinness Book of Records as holding the longest title for an EP, surprise, surprise. But it laid down the gauntlet for a band who were willing to experiment with an exciting range of musical styles and had strong ties to Wales, its language and culture. Creation signed the band in 1996 and released their debut album Fuzzy Logic in 1996 with the Furrys seamlessly melding punk rock, techno and prog rock into a fascinating hybrid. With hit singles like "Something 4 the Weekend" and "If You Don't Want Me To Destroy You", the Furrys became the hottest band in England and transported themselves to a number of Summer Festivals in a tank. Super Furry Animals are one of the few bands in contemporary music who have a sense of musical adventure with each new album from the experimental pop of Guerrilla to the wistful, Welch language album, Mwng. And they are modern day masters of the classic pop single with such unforgettable songs "It's Not The End Of The World", "Rings Around The World" and "Northern Lights". Guaranteed to be a great night of pop songs and fun, Super Furry Animals play the Electric Picnic from the 1st to the 3rd of September. Buy Tickets Tickets: €175 (For three days including camping).
